I was recently given the opportunity to preview a new vegan cookbook by Wheeler del Torro, author of The Vegan Scoop. His new project is titled Fillet of Soul: AfroVegan, named for his pop-up restaurant in Boston. Filled with stories and gorgeous color photos of Wheeler's international food experiences, from a French open-air market to an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, AfroVegan presents a series of themed dinner menus ranging from Jamaican to Parisian, Southern to Senegalese.
I made the Spicy Chocolate Pots de Creme. A pinch of chili powder adds a touch of heat to this creamy, pudding-like dessert.
Wheeler has generously offered to send one of my readers a copy of AfroVegan! To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment below. I would love to know...what's the best meal you've ever eaten while traveling?
Please enter by Sunday, April 6, and I'll announce the winner on Monday, April 7!

ReplyDeleteBest meal while traveling was a brunch plate at End of the Line in Pensacola!
ReplyDeleteFalafel at a little hidden restaurant near my hostel in LaPaz, Bolivia
ReplyDeleteI'm the only plant based eater in the family so the best I've been able to do is a chinese buffet in West Palm Beach, Fl.
ReplyDeleteI tend to stay in places where I can easily cook my own food when travelling, but the best vegan meal i've had abroad was in Berlin, in a vegan restaurant that made the most amazing spatzle I've ever had!
