Soggy

It rained this morning and, although it cleared up by lunchtime, it was still too soggy to go to the playground. So we headed to the brand-new children's museum instead.

On our first visit, there was so much to see on the first floor that we didn't even make it upstairs. But today we did. Upstairs, there is water.

There's a lot of water.

Within five minutes, my kids were the soggy ones. Thankfully, I'd been warned, and came prepared with a change of clothes. Then we explored the rest of the second floor.

Magnets, how do they work?

Off to the farmer's market.

Tipping the scales with veggies.

Frying up something good.

For dinner, Cheddary Broccoli Soup from Isa Does It. The cheesiness comes from cashew cream, miso, and nutritional yeast. This soup keeps for a few days and reheats nicely -- always a plus.

We also snacked on Garam Masala Wheat and Barley Muffins, from Whole Grain Vegan Baking.  The recipe calls for sweet potato puree, but I subbed a can of pumpkin puree, since they're pretty similar. Garam masala adds much the same flavor as pumpkin pie spice.  With apple butter, these muffins are a perfect snack.
