Awesome Artisana

Recently, the kind folks at Premier Organics sent me an incredibly generous assortment of their Artisana butters to sample. Their products are organic and free of gluten, peanut, and soy. Also, they contain no sugar or preservatives (unlike my monster jar of Jif that I can't seem to part ways with!) Many of the products are also raw.

Such great variety! Coconut butter and oil, almond butter, tahini, walnut butter, pecan butter, cashew butter, macadamia/cashew butter, cashini (cashew/tahini), and then there's Cacao Bliss, a chocolate/coconut butter. Of course I had to tear right into the Cacao Bliss!

So yummy, slathered on a graham cracker. It's not super-sweet like Nutella spread. Rather, you get the deep, earthy flavor of pure cacao.

The pecan butter tasted great on oat bran, with sliced banana.

Changing it up a little, the next morning I had oat bran with walnut butter and cherries. Gettin' my omega-3's for the day!

The macadamia butter is perfect on coconut pancakes with banana, for a lovely tropical breakfast.

I think the macadamia was my favorite of all the butters. So creamy and decadent. Jackson concurred.

One morning, I made "Almond Joy" oats with almond meal (leftover pulp from making homemade almond milk,) chocolate chips, and a big dollop of coconut butter. Felt like I was having dessert for breakfast!

Finally, the almond butter is the perfect thing to stir into mashed sweet potatoes.

Everybody needs those healthy fats in their diet. So if you're a huge peanut butter fan like me, and want to branch out a little, I totally recommend checking out these Artisana butters -- especially that dreamy macadamia!

  1. I've loved all the artisana products I've tried. I can only actually get the coconut butter locally though, so it's all I buy. Paying for shipping on glass containers gets expensive. i wish the entire line (esp the cashini butter) was available at a chain store like Whole foods
